We founded Volur out of our love for connective experiences and bringing creatives together in a safe and positive group environment where we all can share our passion for art and the natural world.

We are so blessed to be able to embark on this exciting journey together and to show others around our magnificent country of Iceland, to facilitate the empowerment of women, and to offer our creative guidance to our wonderful attendees with the goal of bringing their own creative visions to life.

Our team is diverse, and we all bring different elements and strengths to our projects. We possess unique gifts including yoga and meditation facilitation, guiding, cooking, visual art, and other various avenues of artistic expression; our skills complement one another’s and merge to build a beautiful team.

  • Björg

From an early age, Björg has always found her energy in nature, igniting the power within herself.  Born and raised in Iceland, she feels a close connection to the elements of nature and the raw power it possesses, as well as the danger that comes with it, instilling a deep respect for that power.

Over a decade ago Björg fell in love with creating art in nature. The naked form has always inspired her, which explains why she found a way to express herself through the medium of nude art. In recent years she began her experiments of posing in extreme cold temperatures.

Björg’s creative expression is multi-dimensional and involves singing, dancing, poetry, and painting. She loves combining her love for nude art, dancing, and yoga in beautiful landscapes and has always felt a connection to the natural elements of witchcraft by connecting deeply with nature, animals, plant medicine, and conjuring spells.

Björg began her yoga journey over ten years ago and dove deep into her spirituality by practicing asanas and she is a certified yoga teacher with 200-hr YTT from Routes of Yoga.

Her studies include Yin Yoga, Yoga Nidra, Trauma Yoga, mindfulness, Meditation & Breathwork.

  • Svala

With over a decade of experience as both a wilderness guide and a professional art model in Iceland, Svala brings a unique blend of expertise in landscape exploration, adventure, and collaborative art creation.

You can say that her journey has been shaped by the rugged beauty of Iceland and the rich tapestry of its folklore, which she channels into immersive, transformative experiences for those around her. While she began by capturing the intimate connection between the human form and nature through the photographic lens, Svala’s work has evolved to embrace themes of empowerment and the wild feminine.

Svala has always been deeply passionate about the history and the practices of witchcraft, in Iceland and beyond. She has a background in dance and loves to express herself through movement and ritualistic dancing.

Through her art, Svala invites others to reconnect with their own inner wildness, challenging traditional narratives of femininity and celebrating the raw, potent energy of the natural world.

Svala is a certified Driver Guide.

  • Alana

Since moving to Iceland 10 years ago, Alana has undergone a transformation that rivals that of Icelandic winters and summers. She credits the powerful, dramatic beauty of the wilderness in all its magnificent forms with instilling in her a desperate love for nature.

While not as experienced with modeling or nature activities in general, she thrives in harsh environments and has taken quite well to nudity in various conditions (for an American!).

She has been practicing yoga for many years and has more recently found the exciting art of pole dancing and fitness. She is the co-owner and operator of the Eríal Pole studio in Reykjavík, a beautiful and welcoming space where all kinds of people come to challenge themselves in this fantastic sport and feel empowered.

However, Alana’s purest form of creative expression manifests in all things culinary, and her favorite place in any home is the kitchen. Cooking and baking are among her true passions, and she will be using these skills to feed us throughout the retreat.
